NOTICE OF ELECTION
CITY OF BUCHANAN, MICHIGAN
NOVEMBER 8TH, 2022, ELECTION
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF BUCHANAN:
Notice is hereby given that a general election will be held in the City of Buchanan on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
At the following locations:
- Precinct 1 City of Buchanan City Hall, 302 N Redbud Trail, Buchanan, MI 49107
- Precinct 2 Redbud City Center, 131 South Oak St, Buchanan, MI 49107
For the purposes of electing a candidate to the following office:
- Governor and Lieutenant Governor
- Secretary of State
- Attorney General
- United States Senator
- Representative in Congress 5th district
- State Senator 17th district
- State Representative 37th district
- State Board of Education
- Regent of the University of Michigan
- Trustee of Michigan State University
- Governor of Wayne State University
- County Commissioner 10th district
- Justice of Supreme Court
- Judge of Court of appeals 3rd district
- Judge of Circuit Court 2nd Circuit
- Judge of District Court 5th District
- Board of Trustee Member Lake Michigan College
- City Commissioner for the City of Buchanan
- Board Member for Buchanan Community Schools
Please take notice the City of Buchanan will be voting on the following proposals.
Proposal 22-1 A proposal to amend the state constitution to require annual public financial disclosure reports by legislators and other state officers and change state legislator term limit to 12 total years in legislature.
Proposal 22-2 A proposal to amend the state constitution to add provisions regarding elections.
Proposal 22-3 A proposal to amend the state constitution to establish new individual right to reproductive freedom, including right to make all decisions about pregnancy and abortion; allow state to regulate abortion in some cases; and forbid prosecution of individuals exercising established right.

Full text of the ballot proposal may be obtained at the City of Buchanan, located at 302 N. Redbud Trail, Buchanan, MI 49107 as well as on The City of Buchanan website at www.cityofbuchanan.com. Sample ballots can also be found at www.mi.gov/vote
Absentee ballots are available for all elections; registered voters may contact the local clerk to obtain an application for an absent voter ballot.
To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille. Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternative formats can be made by contacting the city clerk in advance of the election. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.
