Fire

Buchanan City Fire Department is located in the Southwest corner of lower Michigan. Our department is limited to 22 paid on call members at the present time. We cover the City of Buchanan, which is 5 square miles and the population of 4,681 residents.

Our Department averages 90 to 120 calls per year, we do not run medical calls. We have a ISO rating of 5 which is very good for volunteer Department. Our command is: one Fire Chief, one Assistant Chief, one Captain, and two Lieutenants.

The department has 2 pumper trucks, one 75 foot aerial truck, and one van for personnel transport.

Our department is currently seeking volunteers that are dedicated to give to the community.
