Early Voting Information

Location: Berrien County South County Building Door 13

                 1205 North Front Street Niles, MI 49120

Dates & Times: 

Saturday, October 26th - Tuesday, October 29th       8: 30 AM- 4:30 PM 

Wednesday, October 30th                                             11:00 AM- 7:00 PM

Thursday, October 31st - Sunday, November 3rd         8:30 AM- 4:30 PM

IMPORTANT ABSENTEE BALLOT & IN-PERSON DATES

Voters are still able to receive an absentee ballot

  • Last day we can mail a ballot to a voter is Friday 11/1 @ 5:00 PM
  • Voters can still receive an absentee ballot in person:
    • Until Monday 11/2 at City Hall until 4:00 PM (on that Monday voters are not allowed to leave the building with the ballot, they will need to vote the ballot and return it)
    • City hall office hours are Monday-Thursday 9 AM- 4PM & Friday from 9 AM- 1:00 PM

Early In-Person Voting is available at the Berrien County South County Building- Door 13 at 1205 N Front St., Niles, MI 49120

  • Begins this Saturday 10/26 and will continue until 11/3. Hours are Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM, Wed 11:00 AM- 7:00 PM

Voters can vote in person on Election Day 11/5

  • Polls will be open 7:00 AM- 8:00 PM
  • To confirm your polling location, visit mvic.sos.state.mi.us

Absentee ballots can be returned: via mail, drop box at your local clerk’s office, returned in person, or tabulated by the voter at the Early Voting Precinct or the Voter’s precinct on Election Day.

ALL ABSENTEE BALLOTS MUST BE RECIVED BY THE CLERKS OFFICE BY 8:00 PM ON ELECTION DAY.

**Public Notice**

**Emergency Change of Polling Location for the Absentee Voter Processing Facility/Absentee Voter Counting Board**

The absentee voter processing facility and absentee voter counting board was originally scheduled to be held at 606 Clark St., Buchanan, MI 49107. However, that facility has become unavailable.

In response, the Election Commission of the City of Buchanan held an emergency special meeting to approve a change in polling location, and accommodations have been made at the Buchanan City Police Department located at 720 E Front St., Suite B, Buchanan, MI 49107.

The Absentee Voter Processing Facility and Absentee Voter Counting Board will now take place at the Buchanan City Police Department at 720 E Front St., Suite B, Buchanan, MI 49107 starting at 10:00 AM.

  • To view your registration information or register to vote online, you can go to the Secretary of State Website and fill in the proper information.
I’ve moved, where do I vote?
  • If you’ve recently moved, you must be sure to fill out a registration form for your new precinct, or when you change your address at the Secretary of State's Office your information will automatically be updated.
  • You will receive a new voter registration identification card by mail.
  • If you have moved within the City, you can simply call the City Clerk with your address change information and your file will be updated.
What are the requirements to vote?
  • You must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of the State of Michigan
  • Must be at least a 30-day resident of the city by election day
  • You must be 18 years of age by Election Day
What time are the polls open?
  • Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Where do I vote?
  • The City of Buchanan has two (2) Precincts:
    • Precinct #1 is at City Hall, 302 N. Redbud Trail
    • Precinct #2 is at the Redbud City Center, 131 S. Oak Street
  • If you are not sure which precinct is yours, you can look on your voter identification card or call the city clerk.
