Mark Weedon

Family, friendship and community; I believe these are the cornerstone of my family living in Buchanan.

My family and I moved to Buchanan in 1989 from Niles. My mother (Carolee Weedon) had been teaching at Buchanan Middle School for nineteen years. In 1990 she married Zell Stockwell (who also taught for 30 years at BMS); they were happily married for 27 years until his passing in 2017.

I joined the US Navy in 1997 and served honorably until 2009. The Navy took me all over the world and taught me the leadership necessary to provide for my family, the necessity of friendship when the family was not available to lean on and the importance of community through Naval functions.

I lead with the previous stories to tell my current story. My wife Megan and I, along with three of our children purchased my childhood home on Sylvan St in 2017. When I met my wife in 2007, I knew in my heart we would return home to Buchanan, to the town we so dearly love and admire. My responsibility during this campaign and during my commission seat will be to foster the same feeling from each one of the 4500 people we serve as the commissioners of our town to bring these feelings back.
