NOTICE OF REGISTRATION
FOR THE STATE PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2024 TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF BUCHANAN, COUNTY OF BERRIEN, STATE OF MICHIGAN: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of the City of Buchanan who is not already registered may register to vote at the office of the City Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms may be obtained at their City Clerk’s Office or at mi.gov/vote and mailed to their City Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration with their local clerk or at www.expressSOS.com.
The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 22, 2024.
After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.497) at the City of Buchanan clerk’s office, located at 302 N Redbud Trail, Buchanan, MI 49107 at the following times. Regular business hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Election Day, Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A STATE PRIMARY ELECTION for the qualified electors in the City of Buchanan will be held on TUESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2024, for the purpose of nominating the representatives for U.S. Congress, State Representatives, County Offices and to elect Precinct Delegates. The following County Proposals will be voted on: Berrien County RENEWAL OF COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT AND PUBLIC SAFETY PROPOSAL-For Support of Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice and Public Safety be renewed in the amount of 0.3496 mills ($0.3496 per each $1000 of taxable valuation)
Berrien County RENEWAL OF 9-1-1 EMERGENCY SYSTEM PROPOSAL For Continued Operation of a 9-1-1 Emergency System to be renewed in the amount of .4495 mills ($0.4495 mills per each $1,000 of taxable valuation)
Berrien County RENEWAL OF SENIOR CENTERS PROPOSAL For Continued Operation of the Senior Centers to be renewed in the amount of .2997mills ($0.2997 per each $1,000 of taxable valuation)
