Oakridge Cemetery Rules and Regulations Regarding Veteran's Circle

Oakridge Cemetery Rules & Regulations regarding Veteran's Circle:

1. These rules and regulations are agreed upon between the City of Buchanan, and
the American Legion Post 51 (Administrative Board). Our goal is uniformity.
2. One single Sheppard hook per grave site starting one week prior to Memorial
Day and ending one week after Labor Day.
3. A white cross and flag will be approved by the Legion administration, and will be
placed by legion members for our Memorial Day event.
4. Veteran's circle is reserved for honorable serving members, or those discharged
honorably. No non-military or veterans that were discharged dis-honorably shall
be buried inside Veteran's Circle.
5. No other artifacts are permitted; this policy eliminates all past practices and is
the current controlling document.
6. Grounds will be maintained by city staff, and overseen by the Cemetery Sexton.
7. Violations will be reported to the American Legion and acted upon as soon as
possible.
8. Rule sheets will be handed out upon scheduling a burial or if this policy is
violated.
