NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TUESDAY, MAY 28TH, 2024 AT 7:00 PM
AT BUCHANAN CITY HALL
302 N REDBUD TRIAL, BUCHANAN, MI 49107
The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be the subject of this hearing. Consider adopting the proposed FY 2024-2025 (July 1, 2024- June 30, 2025) City Budget and receive public comment regarding the proposed budget and the property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget as follows:
General Government $961,000.00
Public Safety $1,508,750.00
Public Works/ Cemetery $550,300.00
Recreation/Other $375,600.00
TOTAL EXPENDITURE $3,395,650.00
The taxing unit publishing this notice has complete authority to establish the number of mills to be levied from within its authorized millage rate. The proposed rate will be 16.9793 16.8230 mills per $1,000.00 dollars of taxable value.
The complete budget may be reviewed at City Hall, 302 N. Redbud Trail, Buchanan, MI, 49107, Beginning May 21st, 2024, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The date and location of the meeting to take final action on the proposed budget will be at the same public meeting. Taxpayers appearing at the public hearing shall have an opportunity to be heard.
