Buchanan City Fire Department is located in the Southwest corner of lower Michigan. Our department is limited to 20 paid on call members at the present time there are 17 highly trained professionals and 3 Cadets. We cover the City of Buchanan, which is 5 square miles and the population of 4,692 residents.

Our Department averages 55 to 60 calls per year, we do not provide Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). We have a ISO rating of 5 which is very good for volunteer Department. Our command consists of a Chief, Assistant Chief, 1 Captain, 2 Lieutenants, and 1 Safety Officer.

The department has 1 pumper truck, 1 75 foot arial truck, and 2 utility trucks.

Our department is currently seeking volunteers that are dedicated to give to the community.
